Gay Marriage Equivalent To Smoking Weed?
| Johnathan:: | I would only enlist if I could be used as a specialist, like a doctor or something. I would not enlist if killing were job requirement. |
| Andy:: | All I know is that if I'm not allowed to get married in my country, than I sure as hell am not willing to fight for it. |
| Charlie:: | Okay, I can't say that I know where you're coming from, but I sympathize because I can only imagine how frustrating that is for you. But really? I'm sure there are tons of people here that would love to go smoke a joint right now. Do you honestly think that they would refuse to fight for their country just because they can't legally do that right now? I mean c'mon, that's stupid. |
| Andy:: | And if they want to go smoke a joint they'll go outside and do it. I can't exactly go outside and just get married. I mean I can go where? To three states. And it's not even viewed as legal in any of the other states. |
| Charlie:: | But that's the beauty of it all! The beauty of our country. You HAVE the right to fight for anything. You have the right to appeal for a change. YOU can help make that change! Not every country is as lucky! |
| Andy:: | Uhm - Let's be realistic here, we're in ALABAMA! We would be one of the last states to conform to that, and it wouldn't be for another 100 years because Alabama is full of a bunch of redneck assholes. |
| Class:: | Wooahhhh. |
| Me:: | WHAT!!!!! *Super loud and super late* |
| Teacher:: | Ohh, Okay, let's just justify all of Alabama into one stereotypical category....? Yeah. |
| Charlie:: | Here's what I'm saying, for a bridge toll booth you generally have to pay about 25 cents to a dollar to pass over the bridge, right? Well, I see as enlisting and fighting for this country as a way of paying for our freedom. You have to pay a price. |
| Me:: | So you're trying to relate paying 25 cents to cross over a bridge to paying your life to fight for your country? I think that had the ability to be a really good analogy, but honestly it sucked and wouldn't convince me to enlist. I'm not saying I'm for or against it in either way, honestly I'm not sure where I stand, but I refuse to kill anybody over any matter. There are people who disagree with me and those are the people who are out there fighting, and kudos to them. But for me personally, I don't want to go out there and fight and kill people because of it. |
| Charlie:: | I'm trying to say that I believe that we need to fight for our freedom. |
| Me:: | Well, that's your opinion and is perfectly fine. And YOU can fight for it, I don't really want to. It's a matter of opinion, really. I'm grateful that there are people brave enough to do that, so call me a wuss. I don't care, I still don't want to do it. |
| **It went on and on, for about 30 minutes, but it was...interesting....** |
